EK FM went live on the air on 10 April 2012, marking 2017 our fifth anniversary since our first broadcast.
The station features a range of popular on-air programs, which cater for both the youth and adults, serving them captivating content and shows that appeal to their different tastes.
Our music playlist is 60% local and 40% international, which shows our commitment to airing local talent more favorably than international.
Presenters, producers, news & sports anchors alike, all contribute to our on-air output, which is designed to cater for all needs of our target communities.
The station has so far won three awards, two for best radio station in Ekurhuleni and one for best presenter (midday show) between 2012 and 2013.

EK FM aspires to increase its local music content on the air, especially from artists from areas within our footprint.
We mainly accept submissions from the following genres: gospel (all genres), hip hop, pop, kwaito, house, dance, rugga, reggae, maskandi and other subgenres of cultural music.
